Air Sealing. Feel the Difference.
Air seal your home today and enjoy the benefits for years to come.
Combined with insulation, air sealing improves the overall efficiency of your home. It closes any holes or cracks in your home to prevent conditioned air from seeping out while keeping the cold or hot air outdoors.
At HomeRx, we see firsthand how air sealing can make an incredible difference to the comfort of a home. Our energy audits allow us to pinpoint areas of your home where energy escapes. We’ll offer sustainable and practical solutions to help improve your comfort and save you money.
Air Sealing Services
Air sealing and insulating go hand in hand. They serve as protective layers to keep your home comfortable in any weather.
While insulation acts as a sweater for your home, a sweater itself is not enough to keep the cold at bay if there is any air movement. Air sealing is like a windbreaker jacket over the sweater. Here in the Northwest, we know all about layering!
The air sealing process involves locating the holes throughout your home (even the potential ones) and sealing them up. When combined with the right type of insulation, air sealing makes all the difference in the world in terms of your home’s comfort, heating and cooling bills, indoor air quality (IAQ), and energy efficiency.
What Are Some Keys to Air Sealing?
You’ve probably heard how newer homes can be sealed too tightly, which can create indoor air pollution and cause moisture to build up in the walls and attic. That can lead to a muggy home—your ideal indoor humidity level ranges between 30 and 50 percent.
Years of training and experience have taught our HomeRx team how to do it right so that we do not trap moisture—and allow for drying if moisture finds its way inside your home.
Our air sealing experts know how to ventilate, monitor for gases, and the best ways to pinpoint and eliminate pollution sources. If energy were free and there was no such thing as global warming, we would just put in huge furnaces and leave the windows open all time!
Why Would I Need to Seal My Older Home?
Your home may be very healthy. The wood may be in excellent condition in large part because your home has been breathing for the last 100 years.
But there are a couple of problems here—nobody wants to waste energy these days, and the breathing your house does is very erratic.
Temperature differences between the outdoor and inside air cause your home to breathe. It is likely over-ventilating in the winter when temperature differences are more pronounced. Summer is not usually an issue in our climate because it is usually not so hot out, so we can open our windows.
So your home is hyperventilating on the coldest days, then not enough at other times. The solution is to seal it up very carefully to avoid trapping moisture. You then control the ventilation rate mechanically to get the right amount of ventilation all the time.

Customer Reviews
HomeRx did a great job with our attic insulation. Punctual, great communication and explanations, tidy work. They did fiberglass blow-in and improved ventilation with new soffit baffles and weather protected air intake roof vents. In the floored area of attic, they did "drill & fill" to add insulation over garage. Very happy with the work and would use them again!
Fast, fair, and knowledgeable! I will definitely use again for future insulation jobs.
We had insulation blown in to our 1960s walls. The installers were great - friendly and accommodating. Our home is much more comfortable in both the heat and the cold - it's a very noticeable improvement! Aaron was patient and responsive with all of my questions during the sales process and HomeRx handled all of the Energy Trust of Oregon incentives on their end, and prorated the credit across the deposit and the final payment, so our out-of-pocket was very affordable. Only a few small issues. One is that we didn't realize we needed to turn off the HVAC system, so ended up having fibers blown throughout the house, and some of the insulation came pouring out of the wood paneling in the lower level. It was a fair amount to clean up and definitely caused some respiratory irritation. We also have some slight drywall cracking/bulging in a couple less-visible areas, but nothing terrible. There were also a couple of places were the siding was a bit scuffed or not put back perfectly, but that was a risk we were aware of. Overall, we are very happy with the decision to have this done. Very well worth it!
Performed inspection, showed results, proposed repairs and additions, gave reasonable bid, performed work competently and professionally as promised, I felt completely satisfied with their wirk, from start to ginish.
Great experience from the initial inspection and quote all the way through the job. Fair price and flexible scheduling. Every member of the crew through the entire scope was kind and professional.
Great company to work with, Aaron was very thoughtful and thorough and provided me With a very fair quote. Very grateful I used this company.
These guys removed all my old nasty blow in and bat insulation and blow in all new insulation while customizing around my needs for future renovation they worked with my schedule as I was doing repairs on my ceiling, I would highly recommend them for your insulation needs wether you are removing or installing new or both!
They crew were competent and friendly, The work was completed in a few hours. Testing my home for air leakage, sealing vents and replacing ductwork as needed. They informed me of some missing insulation and dicussed repair options. I will recommend them to anyone needing their services.
Nelsin and his guys did great work on our house sucking out all the old Insualtion and installing new for a fair price. Would recommend!
Bryan and his crew were at our house in December of 2025. We were in a hurry to get insulation installed before 12/31 to qualify for tax credits. They squeezed us in and made it work. The work was done extremely well. They even tried to mitigate signs of a leak until we could replace the roof. We didn’t get the roof replaced until April. Unfortunately a leak did happen before that but their work minimized the impact. Bryan came out to check insulation after the roof repair to investigate at no cost to us. Gave us the all clear, no insulation replacement was needed. The extra work they did, at no cost to us, protected the insulation they had installed. They didn’t have to do this but went the extra mile. Have already recommended HomeRx to multiple friends. Thinking about doing some renovations to our home built in 1950. If we do, we already know we will call HomeRx for that work.
