Learn From Bend Insulation Experts
In Bend, the best types of insulation include fiberglass, cellulose, and spray foam. Fiberglass and cellulose are cost-effective and provide good thermal resistance. Spray foam offers superior air sealing and higher R-values, making it ideal for reducing energy costs in the variable Pacific NW climate.

Signs that your home may need more insulation include uneven temperatures between rooms, high energy bills, drafts, and walls that are cold to the touch. You might also notice ice dams forming on your roof during winter.

The cost of insulating a home in Bend varies based on the size of the home, the type of insulation used, and the areas being insulated. On average, homeowners might spend between $1,500 and $4,500 for insulation projects that improve home comfort and lower energy costs. Attic insulation tends to be less expensive than wall or crawl space insulation.
Important to note, there are often rebates and tax incentives — including the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (Inflation Reduction Act) that can save up to $1,200 each year on professionally-installed insulation materials — that help lower your total cost. As part of our service, we do all we can to help you capture the savings for which you are eligible.
Yes, proper insulation can significantly reduce energy bills by improving your home’s energy efficiency. Insulation keeps warm air inside during the winter and cool air inside during the summer, reducing the need for heating and cooling. Homeowners often see a noticeable reduction in their utility bills after upgrading insulation.
The R-value measures an insulation material’s resistance to heat flow; the higher the R-value, the better the insulation’s effectiveness. In Bend, recommended R-values are R-38 to R-60 for attics, R-13 to R-23 for walls, and at least R-30 for floors. Choosing insulation with the appropriate R-value ensures optimal energy efficiency and comfort.
Insulation can last for decades, but its effectiveness can diminish over time due to factors like moisture, pests, and settling. Fiberglass and cellulose insulation typically last 20-30 years, while spray foam can last much longer. It’s recommended to check insulation every 15-20 years or if you notice signs of deterioration, such as increased energy bills or drafts.

What They Say About Us
Fast Friendly Competent service. Will definitely use HomeRx again. Don’t run into this kind of business much anymore.

They were on time, cleaned up after each day's work, showed pictures of their work, and charged a reasonable price!

Quick response time. Estimate and install were done in the same week Efficient use of time onsite. Respectful and clean team of workers. Also the best price quoted. Very happy and would use then again! And that's saying a lot because most contractors I've had work on my house have been terrible so I am an honest critic.

The entire process was Awesome, communication was excellent, the installers were great to work with. The company worked as a whole better then I could have hoped for . Gary Farland

Kudos to Home Rx for providing blown-in wall insulation that has made a significant difference in our home; we are comfortably warm now and the street traffic noise is muffled too! The installation team was efficient, friendly, helpful and made sure the job was done to our satisfaction.

Great work. Fast friendly service. I would highly recommend working with them.

Our experience was very good. We had 3 quotes. HomeRx was the best. Another company told us we needed a sump pump and quoted us thousands of dollars more. We had a building inspector look for us. He said the HomeRx quote was exactly what we needed. The two men who came to do the work, were really nice and considerate. They covered everything in the bedroom where the hatch to the crawlspace was and kept the window open for ventilation when they were taking out the old insulation. The building inspector (a friend) came back to check and said that they'd done 99% of the quoted work. A small difficult to wrap area was not covered, but he said that wasn't necessarily a bad thing because it was right by the pipes leading to the kitchen sink. And the small amount of heat coming out would help prevent those pipes from freezing. Our friend told us that the standard of work was better than he expected for the price we were quoted. He told us that to save time, some companies use less binding material, and don't wrap the insulation closely enough. But this wasn't the case here. It was an excellent job. The workmen took two full days to complete the crawlspace insulation on a 1200 square foot house. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Nelsin and the rest of the crew were awesome. Lots of great follow up and customer service.

HomeRX was a pleasure to work with. They were professional. polite and knowledgeable. Their bid was super competitive, they came in and did the work as they said they would, completed it on-time and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend them.

Thank you so much to the crew at HomeRx. They did a super detailed, wonderful job and were able to work with our schedule. We will absolutely be having them again if we ever need sprayfoam for a future project. These guys are pros.
