Learn From Bend Insulation Experts

What types of insulation are best for homes in Bend, OR?

In Bend, the best types of insulation include fiberglass, cellulose, and spray foam. Fiberglass and cellulose are cost-effective and provide good thermal resistance. Spray foam offers superior air sealing and higher R-values, making it ideal for reducing energy costs in the variable Pacific NW climate.

How can I tell if my home needs more insulation?

Signs that your home may need more insulation include uneven temperatures between rooms, high energy bills, drafts, and walls that are cold to the touch. You might also notice ice dams forming on your roof during winter.

Schedule a FREE assessment so one of our professional technicians can help confirm your specific insulation needs.

How much does it cost to insulate a home in Bend?

The cost of insulating a home in Bend varies based on the size of the home, the type of insulation used, and the areas being insulated. On average, homeowners might spend between $1,500 and $4,500 for insulation projects that improve home comfort and lower energy costs. Attic insulation tends to be less expensive than wall or crawl space insulation.

Important to note, there are often rebates and tax incentives — including the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (Inflation Reduction Act) that can save up to $1,200 each year on professionally-installed insulation materials — that help lower your total cost. As part of our service, we do all we can to help you capture the savings for which you are eligible.

Can insulation help reduce my energy bills?

Yes, proper insulation can significantly reduce energy bills by improving your home’s energy efficiency. Insulation keeps warm air inside during the winter and cool air inside during the summer, reducing the need for heating and cooling. Homeowners often see a noticeable reduction in their utility bills after upgrading insulation.

What is the R-value, and why is it important for insulation?

The R-value measures an insulation material’s resistance to heat flow; the higher the R-value, the better the insulation’s effectiveness. In Bend, recommended R-values are R-38 to R-60 for attics, R-13 to R-23 for walls, and at least R-30 for floors. Choosing insulation with the appropriate R-value ensures optimal energy efficiency and comfort.

How long does insulation last, and when should it be replaced?

Insulation can last for decades, but its effectiveness can diminish over time due to factors like moisture, pests, and settling. Fiberglass and cellulose insulation typically last 20-30 years, while spray foam can last much longer. It’s recommended to check insulation every 15-20 years or if you notice signs of deterioration, such as increased energy bills or drafts.

What They Say About Us

Omar came on time and his team delivered the insulation in one day. As much as I am grateful for the break I got working with Pacific Power's Senior discount program, the insulation job only covered the unfinished flooring in the large attic I have and had plans for. Now it is knee deep in insulation and I'll have to figure out where the beams are safe to tiptoe on until I can reconfigure the situation. My furnace is also up there and more difficult to access. I expected they would insulate the rafters since there is plenty of livable space up there. It's going to take this lady patience and tenacity to get the attic useful. As a first-time insulation experience, it just seemed like the idea was to get the job done but not listen to what I really wanted. Still so very grateful for the break $ from Pacific Power.

Four months ago we had our attic sealed and new insulation installed by HomeRx. They did a great job! We highly recommend this company.

They did do a great job. However the persistent texting and emailing for a 5 star review is annoying. Please do not harass your customer base with unwanted texts and emails. I will hire these guys again, but not if they continue to text me.

The 2 guys showed up in a timely manor and did a really nice job. Day one was vacuum out the attic, day two blew in new cellulose insulation to R-49. Cleaned up nicely and on their way. Thank you.

Quick response time. Estimate and install were done in the same week Efficient use of time onsite. Respectful and clean team of workers. Also the best price quoted. Very happy and would use then again! And that's saying a lot because most contractors I've had work on my house have been terrible so I am an honest critic.
